Festival of Hope 5K Walk/Run and Day of Fun

Trinity/HOPE is hosting a Festival of HOPE at Charlie Daniel’s Park in Mt. Juliet September 14th from 10:00 am until 6:00pm. The event includes a 5-K run/walk, live music, food, vendor booths and a corn hole tournament.
Trinity/HOPE is hosting this event to help bring more awareness to its work and mission. “Everyone is encouraged to come, join in the fun, and be a part of this effort to provide a noon meal at school for hungry children in Haiti,” said John Hall, founder and Executive Director of Trinity/HOPE. “Our cost per meal served is $0.27. We plan to feed a significant number of children with the proceeds from the Festival of Hope.”
Many people’s awareness of the plight of the Haitian people came with the 2010 earthquake which killed hundreds of thousands and left over a million people homeless and living in makeshift housing and tents. Trinity/HOPE has been working in this poorest country in the entire Western Hemisphere since 1999. The effort which began with one school of 42 has now grown to 90 schools with over 18,000 meals being provided daily. There are still thousands of hungry and malnourished children who get little food at home and no food during their school day.
About Trinity/HOPE:
Founded in 1999, Trinity/HOPE’s mission is to actively seek and be careful stewards of each dollar God provides so that the maximum number of students in the schools of the Christian Churches in Haiti have a meal each day. Trinity/HOPE’s vision is to facilitate the Christian Churches in Haiti ’s efforts to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the children in its schools as they are being educated. Ninety-six percent (96%) of all money raised by Trinity/HOPE is used to feed children in Haiti.
