During the last months of 2001, Freddie Colloca was busy in the studio with Dove Award-winning producer Don Koch (NewSong, 4HIM) and legendary mainstream producer Hal Batt (Julio Iglesias, Chayanne). 8. Freddie Colloca hits the road hard in 2001:
Freddie Colloca kicked off his U.S. touring schedule with an appearance at GMA¹s 2001 Estes Park Seminar in the Rockies in August. He followed that by signing with the prestigious Jeff Roberts & Associates booking agency, and wowed the crowd at the Provident Music Group Winter Sales Conference Showcase in Nashville before heading off in December with NewSong and Newsboys on the 20-city Winter Jam Tour.
7. Savor the Flavor CD collection introduces Latin-flavored Christian pop:

With Grammy-nominated producer Juan Pablo Torres at the helm and many of the musicians from the Grammy-winning Buena Vista Social Club on board, One Voice¹s instrumental CD, Christmas in Havana, was a breath of fresh air to music critics during the Christmas 2001 season. Prodigy Online¹s Christian writer Barry Smades chose Christmas in Havana as one of his two top holiday picks for 2001.
5. Ileana Garces’ TV and radio saturation in Latin America:
After causing a traffic jam on the exhibition floor at July’s CBA International Convention in Atlanta by signing autographs for close to 5 hours (until everyone else had left the convention floor and officials started flicking the lights), Ileana Garces spent much of the summer and fall touring in Central America. While there, she appeared on numerous major TV and radio shows in several countries and achieved a #3 single in Guatemala and a Top 10 single in Brazil. Ileana was the featured performer at the nationally televised Viva Awards in Guatemala and opened in Brazil for Latin America’s top-selling Christian artist, Marcos Witt. During the show, the crowd of 10,000 recognized and sang along with her hit song “No More Loneliness.”
4. Freddie Colloca named the new host of CBN International’s One Cubed:
Freddie was named the new host of One Cubed, CBN International’s Latin show, which reaches more than 25 million viewers worldwide. Freddie now has his hosting duties down pat, having already completed shooting for 3 seasons. The second season begins airing in early 2002.

One Voice Records created the “Yes! We Have Music in Spanish!” retail campaign through Provident Music Distribution. The high-profile campaign was a landmark commitment by a record label and distribution company to market to the 35.3 million Latin consumers in the U.S. “Yes! We Have Music in Spanish!” reached into over 400 Christian retail stores, giving them tools to more effectively market to their Hispanic customers.
1. Freddie Colloca’s breakout GMA Week:
Colloca was very busy during GMA 2001, receiving a Dove Award nomination for Spanish Language Album of the Year for Dove Award for Mas Que Un Sentimiento (the Spanish version of his English-language debut project, Dance El Ritmo).
