Super Tour for O. C. Supertones!

The O.C. Supertones are shouting loud and clear that their Spring tour promoting their latest B.E.C. records project,Loud and Clear, is a smashing success! On the first leg of the tour, 50% of the shows were sold out, including Denver, Knoxville, TN, Norfolk, VA, Richmond, VA, and Fresno, CA.

The tour, which also features Sparrow Records’ Switchfoot, and Gotee Records’ Relient K, is averaging nearly 1500 people per show, something that is making promoters nationwide very happy. Comments one of Colorado’s premiere promoters, Rob Marshall, “Another sell out! We were even over capacity. The crew was great, bands were great. What a treat.”

The band’s manager, Dave Bahnsen, is equally as happy, commenting, “We are a little over 1/3 of the way through the “Loud and Clear Dance Party USA” tour, and we are 30% above my tour projections. The greatest joy for me so far has been seeing the main objective of the tour be accomplished – which is for everyone involved to have a blast! The kids are enjoying this concert immensely, and all of the bands are delivering a solid night of entertainment and ministry. As we have seen so far, I believe the remaining 37 shows on the tour will also play out our theory that the lower ticket prices, smaller venues, and logical choices of places to play equals a very successful recipe for a tour.”
This 60-city tour features nightly dance contests with select volunteers from the audience, a photo booth where attendees can get
their photo taken with other concert attendees, and one of the most energetic live performances in rock music. The venues consist of
high school auditoriums, theaters, and large churches, as the band focuses on bringing their STHS (i.e. Supertones High School) heme across the nation.
To date, The Supertones have sold over 850,000 combined copies of “Adventures of the O.C. Supertones,” The Supertones Strike Back, and Chase the Sun. In the past two years, The Supertones have “opened” for such profound people as Pope John Paul II, the Rev. Billy Graham, and Kurt Warner, a Christian and quarterback for the Superbowl Champion St. Louis Rams. They have also performed for events like the International Millennial Congress of the Salvation Army and the stadium-sized Harvest Crusades.
For the millennial New Year, The Supertones actually played seven shows in two days (Dec. 30-31) covering such major venues as
the Tampa Ice Palace, the Philadelphia Spectrum, the St. Louis TWA Dome, and the Houston Astrodome. Their music has been
heard on MTV’s 120 Minutes, and the MTV Video Music Awards. Their most recent video, “Escape From Reason,” was recently
added to 120 Minutes as well.
