The Bible clearly endorses
Sharing of our substance
With the less fortunate
As God prospers us.
It further narrates affairs
About the boons of giving;
A few cheerfully step forth,
Some even give the “widow’s mite.”
Bounty’s a gift from God,
A portion to be shared.
However, reluctance governs many
Who covet the lucre’s gleam.
Don’t begrudge your helping hand,
But extend of self sincerely.
Deny your right hand insight
Of what the left is doing.
Be a concerned steward
Without thoughts of hoarding.
Instead pause and remember,
You can’t out give the Lord.
