Speak it out loud – – A Coincidence?

Don’t tell GOD you have a problem.
Tell your problem you’ve got a big GOD
and you’ll scare it away knowing that your
big GOD is with you! –Unknown
My Mom bought 2 vine plants from a magazine. She planted one and gave
the other one to me. It was supposed to be a vine with beautiful orange
trumpet type flowers that would attract hummingbirds. We waited
anxiously for it to have flowers. The first year – just a big green
vine. The next year – just a big green vine. The third year, my Mom dug
hers up tired of waiting for it to flower.
I went out to my plant and told it right up front, “Either you get
flowers this year or OUT YOU GO!”
Guess what? It got flowers that year and is so beautiful it is one plant
I am most proud of! Of course I think it odd that after I yelled at it
and threatened it, that it actually did flower.
Coincidence you may say, but think about this next one.
My neighbor and I share an apple tree. It is almost on the edge of
our properties. Both of us have to deal with the apples each year.
After my neighbor cut down a lilac bush that was beside it, it
really took off making apples. Trouble is they are always full of
worms and bugs due to neither one of us knowing about spraying apple
trees. We always just have the mess of cleaning up rotten apples in
our yards and having to put up with the ‘garbage bees’ (wasps) it
attracts.
We were discussing this problem out loud in front of it and saying that
since it requires being sprayed 2-3 times a month and the fact that
neither one of us knows how or can afford to, that it would be a good
idea just to cut it down. So he said he would do that the next year.
Next year came and he got real busy doing extra duties and yard work for
his family and he didn’t get around to being able to cut it down.
But guess what? For the first time in over 12 years that I have lived
here, that apple tree was fruitless. No apples at all last year! It was
as if it heard us talk about the problem of it having apples and said
to itself, “OK, I won’t make apples so I can live!”
Weird huh? But it reminded me of when Jesus Christ cursed the fig tree
for not having fruit…
Mark.11:21
“And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the
fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.” [KJC]
and Jesus Christ told them …
Matt.21:21
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have
faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the
fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,
and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.” [KJV]
There must be SOMETHING to saying things out loud that you want to have
done. Just think how much more power would be if you were to add
believing with it like our Lord said to?
I told my brother about the problem with our apple tree and he told me
about using a trick with apple vinegar. He says that at the beginning of
the season when the tree is first flowering to put a couple inches of
apple vinegar in a bottle around the base of the tree. A 32 oz plastic
soda bottle works well. It will attract the little bugs to it instead
of the fruit. After a week or two, discard the bottle and replace it
with another one. He says it works for his, so I am trying it this year
with mine. It seems to be working so far. Maybe the tree has won it’s
‘right to live’ on. 🙂
