Hispanic Pastors for Miguel Estrada

Hispanic pastors around the country have been staging rallies around the
country this week in support of President Bush’s judicial nominees. All of the President’s nominees are highly educated, highly qualified members of the legal and judicial profession, but have been held up in committee because they don’t fall in line with the liberal special
interest groups that some left-wing Democrat Senators cater to.
The Hispanic pastors are particularly interested in the confirmation of Miguel Estrada to the
federal bench. Judge Estrada’s nomination has been held up by Senator Patrick Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, for
a year. See:http://64.55.184.74/tvc1/categories.php?op=newindex&catid=10
.
Leahy and his liberal allies have blocked President Bush’s judicial
nominees because of their conservative or Christian beliefs. It’s been a full year since President Bush nominated 11 judges to become
members of the U.S. Court of Appeals. Only three of these individuals
have been confirmed by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
