On August 10, 2002, from 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Salem Temple Assemblies of God Church at 1412 Bryant Avenue in the Bronx hosts their eighth annual Rap Fest. This event features 26 Rap Ministries (groups) from various cities and states
throughout the U.S. including Texas, California,
Tennessee, Puerto Rico, Washington DC, Maryland and
even as far out as Canada.
There will be a host of Dee
Jays, Graffiti Artists and Break-dancers as well. All
will be displaying, not only their talents and passion
for the hip-hop origins, but their love for God and
desire to worship Him with their talents and
abilities.
Last year approximately 3,000 people throughout the
course of the day visited Rap Fest. Due to heavy
promotion and great news spreading by word of mouth,
we anticipate a higher attendance this year. This is a
free event for everyone. Press passes are available on
site for the media personnel attending.

Ministries, 8 Hours, all for 1 God.
Rap Fest’s goal is to evangelize the Urban Communities
and bring forth more than just a positive message but
a positive solution to today’s problems. Worldwide
attention by way of the Internet has helped this event
grow from 50 people (who attended the 1st one 8 years
ago) to over 3,000 people in most recent events. We
strive to make an impact in lives and pray that
people’s lives will change for the best through our
combined efforts.
