Pregnant Amy Grant was in New York taping the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” show in early February. Amy was on the show February 14th raising money ($125,000) for St. Judes Children’s Hospital in Memphis where she had recently performed. Coincidentally, I was in New York and caught her on “Millionaire” while in the Big Apple. She is working on her new album to be released in the summer and is currently working on a song called “Looking for You.”

LaRue hit the SoundScan charts for the 3rd week in a row coming in this week at number 16 and scanning over 10,000 units to date. LaRue stopped by the Atlanta BMG branch last week while passing through Atlanta and performed a live acoustic set for the corporate office. “Wake Up” the debut single from LaRue’s sophomore project, Transparent, continues to rise up the charts. The brother/sister duo is currently on a multi-city promotional tour including Chicago, South Bend, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Birmingham, Knoxville, Huntsville, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Grand Rapids.

Chris Rice is scheduled to release The Living Room Sessions, a collection of classic piano hymns recorded in Chris’ own living room! Songs include: “All Creatures of Our God And King,” “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” “How Great Thou Art” and more. Chris says that while you might hear the piano bench creak every now and then and a few notes might not belong, he decided to “leave the humanness in, like I found it in my church growing up.” The album is set to release on April 17th.

Jake has been nominated for a Juno award in the category of Best Gospel
Album and will be attending the awards in March.

The founding member of Essential Records’ new pop group True Vibe, Jonathan Lippmann, who is also multi-platinum 98 Degrees’ founding original member, gave his testimony at Universal Studios in Los Angeles before a crowd of more than 1000 youth leaders. The event was in support of True Vibe’s upcoming debut album, set for May 15, and its performance at Rock the Universe to be held March 24 at Universal Studios. Following Lippmann’s presentation, he signed autographs and met with ForeFront recording artist Stacie Orrico, who also appeared at the event.

Matt Brouwer recently attended a Manager’s In Training event for Lifeway Christian Stores. Matt helped the managers learn how to implement an in-store and performed 3 songs from his upcoming debut, imagerical (releases May 29th). Matt is currently touring the U.S. and will hit over 50 cities between February-April. Cities included are Portland, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and several more. For specific tour dates, visit imagerical.com. “Water” the first single from Matt Brouwer, makes a splash onto the CHR radio scene March 2nd. A month long “Just Add Water” campaign to promote the single is currently underway.
