Nashville First Church News (Updated Feb 18)

A Word from Pastor Henecke
We gather in the place of worship to bring ourselves into the presence of God
in order to be formed by his Word. In celebrating our Lord’s life we
experience his healing work as he transforms us into his likeness and sends
us forth to serve in love. Our worship creates for us an inner person that is
ready for the Lord’s use. Christ gave himself to us through his incarnation
and made us one with him through the gift of his Spirit. That Spirit now
gathers in his name to praise him and to make ourselves vulnerable to his
will. O come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord!
Faith Promise For World Evangelism

Missionaries to Italy, Dan and Carol Ketchum will be our special guests next
week!. Next Saturday evening, February 24, at 5:00 PM we will have a time of
fellowship with a meal in the fellowship hall. Next Sunday morning, February
25, we will have our special Faith Promise emphasis on World Evangelism.
Our Mission

To know the transforming Christ and be found faithful in our generation
The two faithful purposes of the mission:
The Great Commandment – Matthew 22:37-40

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind…
Love your neighbor as yourself, all the law and the prophets hang on these
two commandments.
The Great Commission – Matthew 28:19-20

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you.

INVEST IN A MINISTRY

It is imperative that God’s people invest in doing the work and will of our
risen Lord! Each person must find his or her own way of allowing God’s grace
to bless friends and neighbors. So……invest in God’s work, and he will
invest himself into your life and your own personal situation. It is
impossible to out-give God. This is a high-yield opportunity. Seek first
His kingdom and his righteousness….. You can know more by reading Matthew
6:25-33.

craftsman’s skills moved him into involvement in The Carpenters’ Ministry.
Don recently helped to install the new entrance to our office area. For
