Lipscomb University Presents Singarama

Lipscomb University presents its 39th annual presentation of
Singarama March 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. in Collins Alumni Auditorium, 3901 Granny
White Pike, Nashville. An additional performance is at 2:15 p.m. on
Saturday, March 9.

Tickets are $10 and are available through the Campus Life Office. For
additional information call the Campus Life Office at 279-6057 or
800-333-4358, ext. 6057.

“Singarama 2002 … A Time To Celebrate” is the theme for this year’s
production. Three student casts will present their interpretations of
traditional times of celebration in “Birthday,” “Family Reunion” and
“Retirement,” said Sarah Keith Gamble, associate dean of campus life.

Singarama is a variety show directed, performed and hosted by students and
is comprised of three groups. During the performances, groups are judged in
various categories including theme, music, choreography and costumes. The
group with the most points after the Saturday evening performance wins the
“Sweepstakes” award.

“It is impossible to measure on an individual basis the sense of
accomplishment, the enjoyment, the friendships, and the willingness to give
something of value to the university that can be attributed to Singarama,”
Gamble said. “It has, over time, been our most popular student activity.”

Since its debut in 1964, more than 12,000 students have participated in
Singarama.
