12/28/01 As a follow-up to his Dove Award winning album, Home, and his Spanish project, Camino Largo, Word Records artist Fernando Ortega is gearing up for the February 5th release of Storm. The album again pairs Ortega with his long-time producer, co-writer and friend, John Andrew Schreiner.
As well as the title cut, Storm, Ortega’s tenth studio album – fifth with Word Entertainment – features nine original tunes, including “City of Sorrows,” “Light of Heaven”, “A Place on Earth”, and “Our Great God,” a collaboration with Mac Powell (Third Day). The hymns on Storm are “Jesus Paid It All,” “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” and “Come Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy,” the latter of which is a duet with label-mate Amy Grant.
12/20/01 Freddie Colloca will join award-winning Reunion recording artist NewSong for the Winter Jam 2002 Tour. “My mission is to bring my audience to their feet in celebration,” says Colloca, “and to their knees in worship of the Lord.”
The tour, hosted by NewSong and sponsored by World Vision, is slated to bring Colloca and NewSong to more than 20 U.S. cities, along with additional guests the Newsboys, Michelle Tumes, Brother1s Keeper, Paige, and Phat Chance. From January 3 to February 17, 2002, the tour will travel from Greensboro, N.C. to Birmingham, AL; Greenville, SC; Jacksonville, FL; Chattanooga, TN; Cleveland, OH, and more.
12/19/01 Fans of the internationally known singer JACI VELASQUEZ may recognize her in 2002 in a new role as the voice of “Mary” in an upcoming Muvi Films’ animated film “Angel in the Amazon”. The film will be available in both North and South America and will boast having up to three JACI VELASQUEZ songs on the soundtrack.
12/14/01 One Voice Records Latin pop artist Freddie Colloca (Koy-YOKE-a) stole the audience’s attention this past Tuesday night as he took the stage at Provident Music Group1s Fall Sales Conference Showcase. The show, also featuring Jars of Clay, Jake and new artist Big Daddy Weave, began with a Latin flair as Colloca electrified the crowd of sales reps, weary from a long day1s conference. His finale was no less an exciting surprise as he and two band members pulled out three garbage cans and gave the crowd a taste of Latin Stomp!
