Come Dance with Joel Chernoff

Leading Messianic Praise & Worship recording artist Joel Chernoff releases his new worship offering, Come Dance With Me , on Galilee of the Nations Records this week. After 30 years and over 700,000 albums sold, Chernoff, the former lead singer of Lamb, continues to share his Jewish heritage and faith in the Messiah through music and word.
Scripture, traditional Jewish instrumentation and modern pop/rock sensibilities intertwine to create the sound that identifies Joel Chernoff, considered the pioneer of the Messianic Praise & Worship genre. Come Dance With Me mixes the timeless Psalms of David with the emotional resonance of intimate Jewish-flavored melodies, then adds the contemporary production strength of Bill Cuomo (Dove Award-winning producer of such artists as Kathy Troccoli and Larnelle Harris) and Yochanan Ben Yehuda, the co-producers of Adonai . The recipe produces a matchless worship experience from Chernoff, who wrote or co-wrote each of the 12 songs on this new project.
“There¹s a strong contemporary, pop/rock influence in what I do, but as a boy I had heard a lot of traditional Jewish music mostly in minor keys from my mother,” says Chernoff. The single, “Fall On Me,” is a moving duet with 19-year-old daughter, Sharon, while “The Sacrifice Lamb” is a new millennium version of Lamb¹s hit single.
Lamb¹s music, which launched the genre known as Messianic music, has been the framework for much of Chernoff¹s solo projects. Lamb, with Chernoff at the reigns, swiftly became a trailblazer in Contemporary Christian music even before Billy Ray Hearn signed the band to Myrrh Records and, later, Sparrow Records in the early days of the Christian music movement.
In addition to his enduring musical legacy, Chernoff serves as the president of the International Messianic Jewish Association (IMJA), heading up humanitarian aid efforts on a global scale.
Come Dance With Me is distributed in the CBA market by Provident Music Distribution.
