Sparrow Records debut artist, Britt Nicole will debut her first-ever music video, “Believe” from her recently released album, Say It on Saturday, September 22. The video will be released nationwide and will premiere on the Gospel Music Channel. Filmed July 23, “Believe” was produced by Tameron Hedge and directed by by Eric Welch for Broken Poet Productions.
The video was shot at the Old Tennessee State Penitentiary and features edgy, intense performance shots as well as vignettes depicting the struggle of a broken home. Although the video approaches such a dark, heartrending topic – the message Britt delivers on the upbeat track “Believe” is that it takes reaching out for the love of the Savior to meet us in our darkest moments and deliver us into the light again. Director Welch has also worked on videos for artists Barlow Girl, Audio Adrenaline, Mercy Me, Natalie Grant, Toby Mac and Rebecca St. James.
In addition to the new video, “You,” Britt’s first radio single also continues to climb multiple radio charts this week. After 20 weeks, “You” is still in the Top 10 on both of R&R’s AC charts, taking the #8 slot this week at AC Monitored and #10 AC Indicator. It has been on the CHR chart for 24 weeks peaking at #5 for 3 weeks and is currently positioned at #11 on the chart. Britt was featured as one of a handful of artists in any genre chosen for the 2007 “Next Big Thing” iTunes promotion that ran in July and August, putting her as one of only three Christian music artists included.
Britt’s song, “Sunshine Girl” was prominently featured during a key moment during the show Newport Harbor, The Real Orange County, Wednesday, September 5. Newport Harbor, The Real Orange County is serving as the successor to MTV’s wildly successful docu-reality show Laguna Beach, delivering Britt’s “Sunshine Girl” to the many loyal watchers the show has collected over its four years on the air.
Britt’s inherent and natural heart to minister to the teens of this generation is heard through her music, seen through her life and solidified through the strong, positive media support she has already been receiving. Britt appeared on the cover of the July issue of Focus on the Family’s BRIO magazine, which is centered around teaching, entertaining and challenging teen girls toward a healthy self-concept and closer relationship with Jesus Christ – exactly in line with what Britt’s personal message is all about.
