7/27/6 Casual observers and many industry insiders might consider touring with Academy and Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Prince to be the pinnacle of achievement. But for world-class vocal stylist Niyoki, true success means being in the center of God’s will. Although grateful for the successes she had enjoyed in the general market, Niyoki felt drawn back to her Christian roots and began work on a solo project with which she could share a message of hope and praise. Israel and New Breed have completed the mastering of “A Timeless Christmas,” their first-ever holiday recording. The 15-track studio album is due in stores September 26. “A Timeless Christmas” contains a mixture of soulful carols and new songs written by Israel, Luther Haynes and others including Marvin Winans. Israel and New Breed recently led worship for over 40,000 attendees of the annual MegaFest celebration in Atlanta, Georgia. 7/24/6 IBB Records artist Jerimae Yoder and his wife Karen welcomed Maeci Leigh Yoder into the world on July 12th at 5:19am. Maeci was born at Clarian North Hospital in Indianapolis, and weighed 8lbs. and measured in at 21 inches. Maeci joins brothers Kaleb (4) and Zarek (3) in the Yoder house.More Jerimae Yoder below!

The Spin 360 Record label has unveiled their first release, artist/worship leader Matt Papa, with immediate radio success. Matt’s new single, “You Are Good,” is an immediate add with Air 1, the nation’s largest CHR network. 7/23/6 Kim Dexter is re-emerging this summer – as a solo artist. The former Mayfair Laundry vocalist has signed with California-based Christian record label 7k’ Records, and her solo debut So This Is It will be in stores August 5th. In the 1990’s, Mayfair Laundry was signed to the now defunct Pamplin Music, and toured constantly in support of a string of radio hits. When not on the road, Kim was working behind the scenes producing and writing music for several companies specialzing in music and video releases for children. Kim wrote the theme song for the immensely popular Bibleman video series as well as tracks for artists such as Bryan Duncan, Nicole C. Mullen, and Kim Boyce.

7/21/6 Slanted Records recording artist DecembeRadio, whose self-titled debut hit shelves on June 27th, has been selected to open for Kid Rock at the prestigious Anderson District Managers Conference that will be held in Dallas in late August. There will only be three acts performing and DecembeRadio is the middle act that will lead into Kid Rock’s appearance.

Entitled The Miracle of Christmas, Amazed was a featured performer at the taping which took place at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
7/18/6 The highly-anticipated debut release from Gotee artist Liquid, titled Tales From The Badlands, makes it’s way onto retail shelves today, and has already warranted raves from music critics everywhere. Tales From The Badlands is Liquid’s personal testimony of growing up in North Philadelphia, an area known predominantly for an abundance of drugs, violence and poverty; an area simply called The Badlands. The album showcases an eclectic mix of musical influences including Latino-tinged R&B, old-school hip-hop, and 1970’s soul.

7/12/6 Johnny Cash’s “American V: A Hundred Highways” (American Recordings/Lost Highway) debuts at Number One on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums and Top Country Albums charts. The album, which was released on the Fourth of July, takes the top spot with sales in excess of 88,000 copies, according to Neilsen/Soundscan. Since 1958, while seven of Cash’s albums have reached Number One on Billboard’s Country Album charts, only one other album of his has reached the Number One position on Billboard’s Top Albums charts – 1969’s “Johnny Cash at San Quentin.” “American V” is Cash’s first-ever release to debut at Number One.
Singer/songwriter Tammy Trent returns to Christian music with the release of I See Beautiful August 1. Produced by Tim Miner, Trent, John Mandeville and Tony Montana, the album marks Trent’s first full-length release in six years, after stepping away from the studio following the loss of her husband. Featuring 11 tracks that combine Trent’s signature pop sound with worship selections and introspective ballads, I See Beautiful is an autobiographical snapshot of the love, loss, healing and hope Trent has experienced since her husband’s death in a diving accident in 2001.
Starfield is in the planning stages for a fall Canadian album release tour which will stretch across coast to coast of their great homeland: 4,000 miles of glorious Canadian soil in the heart of autumn. Be on the watch for an official announcement and schedule in the coming weeks.

IBB Records has inked a deal with TAG Artist Group to distribute the debut release Vertical from Jerimae Yoder. The CD, executive produced by IBB Records president and all-star pitcher turned recording artist Kent Bottenfield, will be in stores nationwide August 8th. Jerimae Yoder has been entertaining audiences nationwide on the Extreme Tour for the past year, melding together acoustic guitar with electronic elements that he gleans from influences like Beck, Wilco, Phil Keaggy, MuteMath and Damien Rice.
7/6/6 Rocketown Records recently announced the signing of four-piece pop band The Swift. The band will release its third national album and Rocketown debut, Singing Back to You, on Oct. 10 before heading out on a 30+-city fall tour with labelmate The Turning and special guest Josh Wilson.
Gotee records’ Grits has landed the big screen as their hit song “Ooh Ahh” (2006’s 7) is being used in both “The Fast And The Furious: Toyko Drift,” as well as “Big Momma’s House 2” featuring comedian actor Martin Lawrence. Grits’ music has graced the movies before with the single “Here We Go” featured in “Something’s Gotta Give” starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton, as well as music used in independent films including “Devious Beings”, “Lockdown”, and “Road Dogz”. Their songs have also been used extensively on television including shows like “MTV CRIBS”, “The Real World”, “Pimp My Ride”, “Tough Enough”, and “Boston Public”.
With musical influences that range from Michael English to Frankie J, Matt Matt Earle’s 10 years of music ministry have prepared him for a move to the national stage. Through much prayer and soul searching, Earle made the decision to walk away from secular recording contracts that had been offered, and instead chose to record the independent project Have Your Way, which will be released by TAG Artist Group on September 18, 2006. The popular independent artist has a rapidly growing fan-base thanks in part to years of touring, a promotional partnership with Indieheaven, and his 2006 Momentum Award for “Urban Gospel Artist of the Year.”
Bryan Duncan and Hootie and the Blowfish performed for more than fifteen thousand people Sunday night at the Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa. More than three thousand Special Olympians marched into the arena for the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony, kicking off the first-ever USA National Games which is expected to draw over twenty-five thousand people for the week-long competition.
