Weekend of Fun and Faith

Looking for an exciting weekend of fun and faith for youth? Then you
won’t want to miss SpiritFest 2003 at Bluefield College, Saturday, April 26
when dozens of youth groups from across the region swarm the BC campus for
music, drama, games, workshops and other spirit-filled fun.

The SpiritFest activities will begin with registration at 11:30 a.m. on
Saturday, April 26 followed by lunch and an official welcome from BC
administrators. Later, at 12:45 p.m., participants will explore the college
admission and financial aid process, along with other steps required to get
ready for life after high school in a workshop titled “How to Prepare for
College.”

Games will fill the mid-afternoon agenda as the college opens up
SpiritFest to a carnival-like arena. Among the games booked on campus for
the day: the Bungee Run and the Giant Slide.

After a short break with snacks, the visiting youth will enjoy the music
and drama known as Godspell. This musical production presented by the BC
Theatre Department is a story about the gospel of Matthew from a different,
contemporary approach, including acts with audience participation and the
appearance of Jesus in a Superman t-shirt.

“This is going to be a great day of faith and fun for young people
throughout the region,” said SpiritFest coordinator Keith Beckett.

Cost for the entire day of faith and fun will be $15 per participant. In
addition to the games, drama, lunch and snacks, guests will receive a BC
SpiritFest t-shirt.
