The Dove Award nominations were announced on February 10, 2004, at a press conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The 35th Annual Dove Awards program will take place on April 28, 2004, at the Gaylor Entertainment Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Vida Music obtained four nominations, two in the category of Spanish Language Album of the Year.
“Amar A Alguien Como Yo” (Love Someone Like Me) by Patty Cabrera. This album produced by Patty Cabrera and Paul Dexter was also nominated for a Latin Grammy and an Arpa Award last year.
“El Poder Está En Ti” (The Power Is In You) by René González. This is the second Dove Award nomination for René González.
The album, “Cantos De Gozo Para Niños” (Songs of Joy for Kids), part of the series “Vida Para Niños” and produced by Alejandro Allen and Edgar Arceo, was nominated for Children’s Music Album of the Year. This album was also nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2003 and is the 12th Dove Award nomination for producer Alejandro Allen, who also produced René González Dove award nominee album “El Poder Está en Ti.
In an unprecedented event, the vide clip by Miguel Angel Guerra for the song “Hoy Más Que Nunca” (Today More Than Ever) directed by the acclaimed Russian director Boris Dedenov and produced by Arturo Allen, became the first Spanish language Christian music video to be nominated for a Dove Award. This video was filmed in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Dove Award is presented by the Gospel Music Association and recognizes outstanding achievement in every genre of Christian music in the United States.
The Dove Award recognizes outstanding Christian music recordings in 44 categories.
