ROCKETOWN RECORDS ARTISTS NOMINATED FOR DOVES

Rocketown Records artist Ginny Owens
received three nominations for the 32nd Annual Dove Awards, including a nod
for her #1 song “If You Want Me To” in the prestigious “Song of the Year”
category. The Rocketown Records label and artist roster received a total of
seven nominations.
Owens, who won the Dove Award for “New Artist of the Year” at last year’s
ceremony, was also nominated for her participation on the ROARING LAMBS
project (“Special Event Album of the Year”), and as a co-writer on the
Rachael Lampa song “Blessed” (“Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year”).
“If You Want Me To” was released to radio in April of 2000 and reached the
#1 chart position on May 29, 2000 where it remained for two weeks. The song
was co-written by Ginny Owens and Kyle Matthews; both BMG Songs/Above The
Rim Music Publishing writers.
Rocketown artist Watermark (Nathan and Christy Nockels) received a
nomination in the “Praise and Worship Album of the Year” category for their
contributions as artist and producer on the PASSION: THE ROAD TO ONE DAY
worship recording. Additionally, the Rocketown label received two
nominations in the “Recorded Music Packaging” category for Chris Rice’s
SMELL THE COLOR 9 and Watermark’s ALL THINGS NEW. Rocketown Image Czar Jimmy
Abegg received recognition for his photographic work on SMELL THE COLOR 9.
