My Prayer
My prayer is for the homeless,
the poor, the oppressed.
Those without shelter,
no place to rest.
My prayer is for the sick,
in both body and mind,
the aged, disabled, addicted, confined.
My prayer is for the veterans,
many feel betrayed.
Suffered many losses,
cast by the way.
My prayer is for all nations,
that there would be peace.
Spears turned into plowshares,
all fighting will cease.
My prayer is for the masses,
God’s love they will find.
They will know His perfect peace,
precious gift to all mankind.
The Miracle of Friendship
The gift of Christian love,
singing of the heart.
We don’t how it happens,
how it gets its start.
We know it’s there – we feel it,
so difficult to explain.
It’s comforting and healing
in the midst of struggle and pain.
The miracle of friendship,
so precious to Our Lord;
a touch, a smile, a handshake
or simply a kind word.
I thank God for our friendship
in each and every way.
May He hold you in his loving arms
each and every day.
A Fresh Start
A fresh start today,
Lord, help me, I pray
to correct what went wrong
by what I do and say.
Lord, you know all things.
I don’t have any wings;
just a plain, simple man,
like a tree with lots of rings.
Lord, you know my plan
and I know you can
help me to make all things right,
to love, not quarrel or fight.
To get a fresh start –
Lord, you know my heart.
Life’s Mystery
How God could love
such a sinful world,
I can’t comprehend.
Why his beloved son
had to die,
I’ll ponder ’till life’s end.
How he could love sinful me,
my finite mind can’t fathom.
I know it was the only way
he could pluck me from that chasm.
Why he loves me still,
holds my hand,
lifts me when I fall;
how he cares for me,
meets my every need,
that’s the greatest mystery of all.
Safe in The Lord
Safe in The Lord;
there is no doubt.
Let’s all proclaim it,
in unison shout.
Nothing can harm us
nor destroy.
Nothing can hinder
or steal our joy.
Safe in The Lord,
that is His Word.
Let’s all sing it
in one accord.
That’s what God’s promise
is all about.
Safe in The Lord,
there is no doubt.
My Prayer
My prayer is for the homeless,
the poor, the oppressed,
those without shelter,
no place to rest.
My prayer is for the sick,
in both body and mind,
aged, disabled,
addicted, confined.
My prayer is for the orphans,
the little throwaways.
No parent to guide them
or teach them to pray.
My prayer is for all nations,
that there will be peace;
spears turned into plowshares,
the fighting will cease.
My prayer is for the masses,
God’s love they will find.
They will know his Perfect Peace,
priceless gift to all mankind.
My Friend
I have a friend.
His name is Jesus.
He bled and died
to set me free.
On that cruel cross,
he sealed my freedom
and by his grace,
the victory.
I have a friend,
The Holy Spirit;
unlimited power,
he gives to me.
God’s matchless power,
it will sustain me.
I cannot fail,
I will prevail.
Such a friend is he!His Voice
Are we listening?
Do we truly hear?
The Savior is calling,
the end may be near.
Amid the din and clatter,
that still, small voice,
hustle, bustle, chatter,
Does all this really matter?
We are given the choice.
Does this life have real meaning?
What about the next?
What messages are we gleaning?
It’s all there in the text.
Hark!, the horses’ hoofbeats;
the four are standing at the door.
His voice grows louder!
Can we hear above the roar?I’m Home
I’m taking my holiday
with Jesus this year.
But please don’t be sad;
shed not a tear.
I’m joining the heavenly
chorus this year.
Such glorious sounds –
How I wish you could hear!
So don’t grieve for me;
keep on spreading The Word.
God’s plan of salvation,
it has to be heard.
Not one soul should miss
this beautiful place;
Christ Jesus, Our Savior,
Ah, Yes, face to face.
