Mark Schultz Packs Them in for the 4th

Only an estimated 10,000 people were planned on to enter the gates of
Apopka High School’s Roger Williams stadium. But instead, over 15,000
were in attendance at the free concert/fireworks event featuring
headliner Mark Schultz.
Positive Hits Z88.3 WPOZ/WEAZ was one of the biggest sponsors,
broadcasting live from the Apopka High School stadium and leading
various activities from the stage.
Theresa Ross, co-host of “Scott and Theresa in the Morning” and
Z88.3 promotions director says, “this was an incredible opportunity to
be a part of a city-wide, city-sponsored event where Apopka allowed
Z88.3 to partner with them. The crowd literally tripled in size
compared to last year’s attendance”.
The event kicked off late afternoon with various family-friendly
activities for all ages including an ice-cream eating contest and a
patriotic red, white and blue contest. Bob the Tomato and Larry the
Cucumber of VeggieTales fame made appearances and numerous vendors were
available offering food and drinks for purchase. Leading up to Z88.3
artist Mark Schultz, the singing group 4 Girls Only took the stage and
gave a very patriotic performance. Mark Schultz sang with passion and
involved the crowd in not only praise and worship but also fun songs.
Mark told Z88.3 that Friday’s event was the largest crowd he has ever
performed for.
Even at the end of the concert, shuttle buses were still bringing
people in from remote parking areas and even outside the gates, the
parking lots were full with people standing to watch the beautiful
fireworks display to bring a spectacular end to the celebration.
