Lipscomb University presents University Concert and Jazz Bands

The Lipscomb University Music Department presents
the University Concert Band Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. in Collins Alumni Auditorium,
3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville. The concert is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to
attend.

The University Concert Band will perform Pas Redouble by Camille
Staint-Saens, Earl of Oxford’s March by William Byrd, Fantasies on a Theme
by Haydn by Norman Dello Joio, Gumsucker’s March by Percy Grainger, and
Fandango by Frank Perkins.
The Music Department presents the Jazz Band and Vocal Ensemble Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre
located in the Student Center, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
The Jazz Band will perform Open Wide by Don Ellis, Happy Days are
Here Again by Jack Yellen and Milton Ager, I Just Can’t Stop Loving You by
Michael Jackson, Doctor Calles by Doug Beach, and Birdland by Josef Zawinul.

The Jazz Vocal Ensemble will perform I Only Have Eyes for You by Al
Dubin and Harry Warren; Over the Rainbow by E.Y. Harburg and Harold Arlen;
Satin Doll by Johnny Mercer, Billy Strayhorn, and Duke Elington; Someone to
Watch Over Me by George & Ira Gershwin; and Take the A Train by Billy
Strayhorn.Both concerts are free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to
attend.
