JACI VELASQUEZ knows how to celebrate Christmas. Fans in Wisconsin really got to know debut solo artist PETE ORTA last weekend. PETE shared his personal testimony and his new music on WORQ – Q90 FM, NBC Channel 26 morning news and WLUK Fox 11 news all in the Greenbay area. Friday evening Pete performed two shows to warm crowds at the Cup O’Joy Coffehouse. And Sunday morning Pete sang in two services at the New Hope Community Church in Manitowoc.
11/01/01 JACI VELASQUEZ has spent quite a bit of time in front of the camera lately. This time however, it’s for television. JACI recently wrapped up a week’s worth of taping for the Nickelodeon TV series “Taina”. In her television-acting debut, JACI plays Yvette, a senior at the Manhattan School of the Arts. The show’s director is none other than Kim Fields aka “Tootie” of the popular 1980’s sitcom “Facts Of Life.” Look for this episode to air in 2002.
SALVADOR went into the studio this week in their hometown of Austin, TX to record their highly anticipated sophomore release. They will be recording with producers, Pete Kipley and Chris Rodriguez through Thanksgiving. Pablo, trumpet player for the band said, “We’re all pretty excited about it. We’ve been touring non-stop over the past year and a half and now we finally get to put out our new project!” The album is scheduled for a late spring release. More Salvador below!
In the past week, PETE ORTA met some enthusiastic southern fans as he opened for Audio Adrenaline in Mississippi and Plus One in Georgia. Through his debut solo album “Born Again” which released this fall, audiences have had a chance to get to know the heart behind a well traveled, Grammy award winning, Christian rock guitarist.

11/01/01 SALVADOR has been spending most of their time on the road and have had some really great experiences. In addition to their regular performances the past few months, Nic, Art, Josh, Eliot, Chris, Pablo and Billy have had the honor of performing at the Billy Graham Crusade in Fresno, two Ralph Bell Crusades (in association with the Billy Graham Crusades), five Promise Keepers Events, the Youth Specialties Conference in Tampa and one coming up in Dallas on November 16th.
