Lamplighters Theatre Slates Murder Mystery

It was a dark and stormy night. A door slammed. A maid screamed. A shot rang out…
Okay, no door slammed and no maid screamed. But a shot did ring out. In fact, six shots rang out. And when it was over young Paul Crawford lay dead on the sofa. But who did it? The eccentric caretaker and his wife? Paul’s jealous fiancé? One of his brothers, or perhaps his own mother? The game is afoot, and the little gray cells are engaged during Lamplighters Theatre’s fall production, Late One Night.
“Late One Night will challenge the audience on multiple levels,” says Lamplighters’ veteran actor Mike Parker, who makes his directorial debut with this production. “There is humor, melodrama, and some genuinely scary moments in this play. And like any good murder mystery there are plenty of clues and red herrings to keep even seasoned mystery buffs guessing whodunit.”
Late One Night features a strong ensemble cast headed up by 20 year-old Smyrna actor, Justin Dobbs, with set design by Lamplighters’ Artistic Director, Ron Berryessa. The play runs three nights only – September 28, 29, and 30, at 14119 Old Nashville Highway, Smyrna, Tennessee. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Seating is limited and reservations are encouraged. No child care will be available, and because of the subject matter, parents may wish to consider whether young children should attend.
For reservations or for information, please call (615) 459-3421.
Lamplighters Theatre is a ministry of Smyrna Assembly Church, Smyrna, Tennessee.
