Essential Records announces today the
signing of a significant new pop group, True Vibe.
Formed by the
multi-platinum 98 Degrees’ founding original member, Jonathan Lippmann, True
Vibe has already appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, performed the
national anthem for several major sporting events (Tennessee Titans,
Washington Redskins, Cincinnati Reds, etc.), as well as performed at the
Arena Football “Superbowl” in Orlando, which broadcasted the True Vibe
performance to over 150 countries. Not including the television audiences,
True Vibe has performed for more than 700,000 people prior to releasing its
first album scheduled for May.
“True Vibe is not the product of a record label or a big management deal,”
notes Robert Beeson, Essential Records president. “It is about a group of
guys organically brought together by mutual interest. Before we signed
them, they had already garnered a significant following. We plan to help
extend their reach and will partner with them as they move toward their
goals.”
Prior to signing with Essential Records, Lippmann’s stint as an actor landed
him roles on television shows such as Sweet Valley High and commercials
including Burger King advertisements. As an accomplished French Horn
player, he performed for radio and television commercials for Sunny Delight
and Lexus, plus performed in several symphonies. More recognized, however,
is Lippmann’s role in 98 Degrees, which he left to fulfill acting
obligations and to further deepen his relationship with Christ.
“When it came to forming True Vibe, I knew each member must be held to the
highest standard,” states Lippmann, who toured with the Backstreet Boys and
Montell Jordan during his time with 98 Degrees. “I know that for True Vibe
to compete, we have to work twice as hard and make no compromises. Not only
does this mean having members with the best vocal and dance skills, it also
means having members with the right hearts.”
With the same feel for talent that helped him assemble 98 Degrees, Lippmann
found three vocal and performance equals: Jason Barton, Nathan Gaddis, and
Jordan Roe. The result forms an exceptional pop group with a fresh vision
and approach that can rock the radio dial without losing the realness that
makes them unique. The foursome, whose shared faith plays a large part in
their endeavors, reach out with more meaningful fare that meets fans on a
more personal level.
“We want to be able to sing exceptional, positive, quality pop music,” says
Roe, the youngest True Vibe member at just 18 years old, “but we also want
to make a real difference in people’s lives.”
Finding a shared creative vision with Essential Records, True Vibe is making
preparations for its debut release. The group is currently collaborating
with some of pop music’s top hit makers, people who’ve written for the likes
of the Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync, and 98 Degrees.
Nashville-based Essential Records was founded in 1992 and specializes in
providing relevant pop, alternative and modern music for the youth market.
In addition to True Vibe, the label’s artist roster includes Jars of Clay,
Third Day, Caedmon’s Call and FFH. Essential Records, and its affiliated
labels, Watershed Records and Sub(Lime Records, are distributed through
Provident Music Group and through partnerships with mainstream parent
company Zomba.
