The online versions of all three 24-hour radio formats produced by Salem Music Network have now earned a place among the 50
most listened to Internet broadcasts in the world. In the March “Measurecast” online listsening reports, Salem’s
“TodaysChristianMusic.com” stream was rated as the 35th most listened to Internet stream, its “SolidGospel.com” stream as the
36th most popular online broadcast, and Salem’s “Word in Praise” stream as the 48th most popular stream.
Salem Music Network general manager Michael Miller commented, “This is tremendous news for our sponsors. Not only have
we been able to deliver a responsive audience through our 230 local station affiliates, we’re now seeing strong audience response
from an entirely new arena: the online community. We’re also finding the online broadcasts and accompanying websites to be a
great venue for new artists to develop a following for their music. Whether it’s our contemporary Christian music format, our
southern gospel format, or our praise and worship format, there’s a tremendous hunger for Christian music, and we’re grateful for
the opportunity to give people this music on a non-stop basis.”

Salem’s “Today’s Christian Music” network celebrates it’s ninth birthday this month. This 24-hour a day contemporary Christian
music broadcast originally signed on the air May 9, 1992 serving nine affiliate radio stations. Today it airs in over 110 markets and
online at TodaysChristianMusic.com. Air personality Chris Ruleman (heard throughout the nation as the “attention shoppers”
voice in all Wal-Mart stores) and operations manager Wade McShane have been with the network for seven of its nine years and
GM Michael Miller remains as the network’s last original employee.
The Nashville-based network began as “The Morningstar Radio Network” under private ownership in Houston, Texas. In 1994 it
was sold to Christian publishing giant Thomas Nelson, Inc. which relocated it to Nashville and then was sold to Salem
Communications Corporation in 1996.
