When the official Swedish sale chart for CD-singles (mainstream market) was presented last friday, the Swedish Christian band Charizma could be found at no. 10! “I’m thrilled, this is something we’ve been waiting for for a long time” says guitarist Thomas Karlsson. “We just wanna express our gratitude to all of those who has bought the single and made this happen. This is definitely bigger than us”. To the American audience Charizma is probably best know for the song “Run to God” which was a huge hit on the Air1 Radio Network in 2001. The same year Charizma also played Spirit West Coast and Day7 at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA.
The promotion work for the single and the upcoming album is now intensified in the mainstream market.
A sound that’s undeniably very much their own, Charizma succeeds in taking elements from rock, 80’s pop, electronica, and a bunch of different styles creating their own sound. Very radio friendly, but with a twist.
The upcoming album “Life in 3D” is produced by Johan Glössner whose credits include Sofia Loell, debuting artist on Curb Records which has seen lot of airtime lately. The album is released in Europe by Pama Records/Asaph Musik, Charizma’s publishing company is well renowned Warner Chappell. The band is currently looking for a license/master deal in the U.S.
