Six-time Grammy Award winner CeCe Winans is set to release her worship album aptly titled, Throne Room, on Wellspring/Epic/INO labels
September 9. Produced by Victor and Cedric Caldwell (Whitney Houston), Throne Room has all the components to create a sanctuary atmosphere for genuine worship.
With CeCe writing and co-writing nearly every song on the project, Throne Room is a transparent representation of her heart. One song that expresses CeCe’s personal desire for this project is the title track co-written with her longtime friend and gospel legend, Andraé Crouch. CeCe hopes to draw people nearer to the throne of God through the words and music on Throne Room.
“I have changed because of this album,” says CeCe, “Worship is not about us—it’s not about our circumstances or what we need. It’s just about worshiping God for who he is. Period. When we learn to do that, then we’ll create that atmosphere in which God can work in our lives.”
Throne Room will be the first project released with CeCe’s new recording agreement uniting INO Records and her own label, Wellspring Gospel, in collaboration with Epic Records, a division of Sony Music. Already, CeCe is working on her sophomore pop driven project, under this agreement, which is scheduled to release in the spring of 2004.
This album follows the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Gold certified self-titled 2001 album. The CeCe Winans project also received accolades in the form of a Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album, Dove for Contemporary Gospel Album, and numerous Urban and Contemporary Christian Music radio hits. In addition to her honors, CeCe was seen in special guest-starring roles in 2002 on the WB Network’s “7th Heaven” and PAX Television’s “Doc.”
