Friday, March 9: “Second Friday” Singles Potluck in
the Corner Room @ 6:30 pm.
Here’s the food thing: Last names starting with
A – H Side Dish
I – R Main
Dish
S – Z
Dessert
Drinks and utensils supplied by Belmont Church.
2. Saturday, March 10 from 1 – 4 pm: Bowling party at Melrose
Lanes on 8th Ave. Bowling is not expensive, about $2.00 per game and shoes
about the same. They have food there if you want it and I believe, a dinner
party will be put together following at a local restaurant. I will not be
there but Nita Gamache, Mark Wright and Olan Milligan will be there to keep
fistfights to a minimum…. Just kidding!
3. Friday, March 16: a very special “ThirD FRidaY” Coffeehouse @ Koinonia, 7:30 pm With Grammy award winning artist (and former Belmont member) BRUCE CARROLL
Bruce is a dear friend of mine and now a Worship leader at
Hope Presbyterian Church in Memphis; still traveling, doing concerts but next week he comes to us in that rare intimate coffeehouse setting where he really shines.
Bringing a musical guest or two, he shares warm, personal “story” songs about real people encountering God’s grace in unexpected ways. No hype or cliches, you will really enjoy this night and so will your
non-Christian friends.
Bruce has performed on TNN, VH-1, at the Bluebird and other national acoustic music venues.
I urge you to put this date on your calendar, next Friday,
March 16 @ 7:30 in Koinonia, 16th and Grand Ave, across the corner from Belmont Church.
Admission is $7.00 at the door and the usual desserts,
snacks, coffee and other drinks will be served.
4. Sunday, March 18, 1 – 3 pm Singles are again helping serve the
Isaiah 58 Lunch at the Fellowship Hall
for the homeless folks. A great chance to serve the Lord and put a face on
some otherwise faceless folks with real stories and real lives important to
God.
Your Singles Leadership Team consists of: Tina Bollinger
Nita Gamache
Emila Herring
Olan Milligan
Mark Wright
Karlton Scott
We have already met and put together a list of monthly activities (beside
the potluck) stretching into the summer months. I will have the schedule
ready for distribution at the supper tomorrow night. God is bringing us
together and good things are happening!
I strongly encourage you to invite single friends to the Potluck even going
so far as to pay for their childcare if that’s an obstacle. We will be
looking into childcare options for single parents for the next Potluck here
at the church and would like to have your ideas. Movie night? Chip in for
a big-time sitter or 2 in someone’s home? Think about it!
