A Capella Group Committed Captures Dove Nomination

Epic Records’ a capella group Committed, added another accolade to their collection as their self-titled album was nominated for “Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year” for the 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards. The Dove Awards will be held on April 19, 2012 in Atlanta’s Fox Theater.
Committed recently appeared at the 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles as they were up for “Outstanding New Artist.” The NAACP Image Awards is the nation’s premier multi-cultural awards show celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.
Committed’s Dove nomination was announced at a press conference held at The Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta, GA, which was streamed live at HearItFirst. Nominees were announced by GRAMMY nominated R&B artist Montell Jordan, known for his iconic hit “This is How We Do It,” BET “Lift Every Voice” host CoCo Brother, Daytime EMMY nominated comedian Chonda Pierce, and World Heavyweight Champion wrestler AJ Styles.
The Dove Awards have featured performances and appearances by some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports, including Whitney Houston, Tim Tebow, Sherri Shepherd and Kathie Lee Gifford. It has showcased many of the nation’s leading Christian music artists, including Amy Grant, TobyMac, Michael W. Smith, Kirk Franklin, Casting Crowns, Mary Mary, Third Day and more.
