The 42nd Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards nominations were recently announced and Christian Activities is taking a closer look at some of the 2011 nominees and other luminaries including: TobyMac, Brandon Heath, Chris Tomlin, Jason Crabb, Francesca Battistelli, Jason Ingram, Jars of Clay, Matt Maher, Tenth Avenue North, Dailey & Vincent and more.
Brandon Heath
Christian music’s reigning two-time Male Vocalist of the Year, Brandon Heath is once again tapped in the coveted category with his nomination announced today from Atlanta, Ga., for the 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Chonda Pierce

Fervent Records’ hot debut artist Chris August is soaring high with five 42nd Dove Awards nominations in the following categories: New Artist Of The Year, Male Vocalist Of The Year, Pop/Contemporary Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song Of The Year. Dailey & Vincent
Award-winning bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent received a 42nd Annual GMA Dove Award nomination this week for Bluegrass Album of the Year for their all a cappella gospel collection, Singing From the Heart, on Rounder Records. Ernie Haase & Signature Sound

Francesca Battistelli
Fervent Records and reigning Dove Awards Female Vocalist of the Year Francesca Battistelli hopes to have a ‘hundred more years’ like 2011 with scoring four 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards nominations in the following categories: Artist Of The Year, Female Vocalist Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song Of The Year. Francesca Battistelli will also make an appearance during the Doves show.

The legendary Hoppers received two nominations for the 2011 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards.
The Isaacs
