5/10/5 Focus on the Family’s Focus on your Child
Nearly 10,000 new families joined Focus on the Family’s Focus on your Child (www.focusonyourchild.com) program in less than a week, responding to a multi-media campaign which included television ads aired during ABC’s, Supernanny. The program, which features British Nanny Jo Frost helping parents with their unruly and strong-willed children, was a logical fit for Focus on the Family’s faith-based parenting messages. Press releases from Focus on the Family explain, “While we do not endorse the premise or content of Supernanny, we do recognize it illustrates the age-old problems of parenting in a current reality show context. We also believe that advertising on this show is a great way to reach millions unfamiliar with all that Focus has to offer.” As a result of the spot, thousands of parents called Focus on the Family and visited the Focus on Your Child Web site looking for resources and encouragement as they traverse the difficult terrain of parenthood.
