Christian parody band ApologetiX got some unexpected publicity when they were featured on the website of Brian May, guitarist for the legendary rock band, Queen. The website noted that, “Christian parody band ApologetiX recorded a David-versus-Goliath take on [Queen’s] ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ entitled ‘Bethlehemian Rhapsody,’ on their 2001 album Keep The Change.” May’s website also featured a graphic of the Keep the Change CD, a complete track listing, and a link to the lyrics and the mp3 file at apologetix.com.
Word Records’ critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Mark Schultz and his renowned music video, “Letters From War,” recently captured one of the first place honors at the 2003-2004 Department of Defense Visual Information Production Award for the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center (CRC). The music video, which tells the story of a World War II soldier in the European theater and his faithful correspondence with his mother, was an integral part of the CRC’s “Be Safe” campaign.
Casting Crowns continues its unprecedented success with the RIAA Platinum certification of its self-titled debut album for sales of more than one million copies. This momentous occasion comes only sixteen months after the Sept. 30, 2003 release of its award-winning album, making them the fastest selling debut artist in recent Christian music history.
Christian artists including Michael W. Smith and Jars of Clay recently launched “ONE in the Spirit”, a faith video in support of The ONE Campaign to fight global AIDS and poverty in Nashville, Tennessee. The three-minute video, featuring 16 of the biggest names in Christian music, will be featured at concerts, music festivals and places of worship across America in 2005 to rally support for The ONE Campaign – a coalition of the nation’s leading relief and advocacy organizations.

Always on the cutting edge, TobyMac recently was in LA to film the new music video for the single “Gone”, from his album Welcome to Diverse City, with director Brandon Dickerson (Switchfoot, Sixpence None the Richer, Vince Gill, Dishwalla, Playstation 2, Converse). The video was done in HD, a very exclusive and rare process where the film is directly transferred to the HD format from 35mm, and one of the first for the Christian music industry.

A’postrophe Records newest group Grand Prize was recently honored when their single, “It’s Not Over” from their debut album Identity, was selected to be on the annual Wal*Mart sampler, which will be distributed on college campuses across the country nationwide this spring. Other artists on the sampler include The Donna’s, Muse, and Hellogoodbye.
INPOP’s Superchic[k] can now be heard on the big screen and the video screen. Their single, “Get Up”, is featured in the Disney film “Ice Princess”, as well as on the soundtrack, and their single “Anthem”, from their latest release Beauty From Pain, is part of this new Playstation 2 game Steel Lancers Arena International (SLAI).
Television legend Michael Landon’s award-winning series, “Highway to Heaven: Season One”, will be available on DVD April 26. The seven-disc set features all 24 episodes from the show’s first season, including the two-part pilot, seldom-seen outtakes and the documentary tribute, “Michael Landon: Memories with Laughter and Love”.
