Fans of harmony-laden acoustic pop rock will find much to love in the self-titled release from Monk & Neagle. Without falling into the cookie-cutter Christian music “guys with guitars” mold, the duo creates a sound that is catchy and creative. Songs like “Paradise” and “Harmony” are a bit reminiscent of Seals & Crofts, with a light folk pop sound. The album has a definite love song theme, from two guys who admit to being head over heels for their wives. My favorite track on the album is “Lovely Woman”; the combination of the guitar and banjo give the song a unique tempo.
