What God Wants for Christmas

Read Along/Sing Along picture storybook

By Amy L. Bradford

Illustrated by Lyuba Bogan

Published by Family Life Publishing

I enjoyed the illustrations in this children’s book. They added to the enjoyment of the story and I found myself rereading the story just to enjoy the pictures.

This is the Christmas story retold in verse format. Because of the format, it felt a bit contrived at times. Yet, the book is still good. It is designed to not only tell children about the true meaning of Christmas, but to help them understand that God wants something for Christmas too…He wants us. It takes the focus off gift-giving and writing to Santa and reminds children and parents everywhere that God created us and that He wants us to know Him and love Him.

Included with the book is a read along/sing along CD. Each section of the book has a different Christmas carol that goes with it. There is also a section for parents on the last page to explain specifically how children and adults can give God what He wants…how to be adopted into His family. It even includes a prayer for salvation.
