We Are Christ’s Church

We are Christ’s church. In being the church, we confess to the entire world that there is one true God.
The question or the issue which defines the difference between truth and deception is “Where is this God to be seen?” Colossians declares that Jesus the Nazarene “is the image of the unseen (invisible) God.” In John 1:18 it states that no one has ever seen God but the God who is from God (as the creeds say “begotten and not made”). The only one who is from the very core of the being of God – God the Son – has revealed him. The actual word in the ancient text is exegeted, which means “explained” him. In Colossians 1:19 it speaks of Jesus as, “In him the full being of God was pleased to dwell.”
The church exists to proclaim that the god of Jesus of Nazareth is God. We have now seen him and known him and can confidently declare to the world, “Behold your God!” The church is the fulfillment of the ancient message to the people of Israel through their prophet Isaiah when he said, “Get up to the high mountain, o messenger of Zion, and say to the cities of Judah ‘Behold your God.'”
