Wacky World Studios Releases New DVD

If the thousands of kids from the largest churches in America are voting this fall, a bug named Squiggz is about to be elected the next big thing in kids entertainment.  Squiggz, the central character in the soon-to-be released animated video series The Roach Approach “Don’t Miss The Boat” from Wacky World Studios, was introduced to approving audiences totaling more than 30,000 children and parents at special preview events at 15 churches across the country in July and August.
According to Bruce Barry, founder of Wacky World Studios and creator of The Roach Approach, the overwhelming response to Squiggz and the DVD previews makes him optimistic for a successful retail launch when The Roach Approach “Don’t Miss The Boat” DVD and CD are released through EMI CMG Distirbution on November 16. 
“We are hopeful that our ‘roach’ approach to children’s projects will truly reach kids with the message of the Gospel in a new and cool way and I was so encouraged by the reception we got at every church we visited,” said Barry.   “It looks like kids and parents are excited about the release of The Roach Approach ‘Don’t Miss The Boat.’  I’m eager for more people to meet my beloved new bugs!”
Wacky World Studios has become known worldwide for creating children’s ministries and themed environments.  The Roach Approach is the company’s first venture into children’s animation and other products.  “Don’t Miss the Boat” is the first in a series of animated video adventures starring a six-legged family, featuring character voices and original music performed by Michael McDonald, Kirk Whalum, Natalie Grant, Tommy Sims and Gabriel Patillo.  The Roach Approach will allow children to experience classic Bible stories from a new perspective…through the eyes the roach named Squiggz.  The music in the video and on the soundtrack CD was produced by Dove Award winners Glenn Wagner, Sims and Bryan Lennox.  Companion Bible story products, “Noah’s Journey of Faith” DVD story-time book and CD read-along, will release in November.
Barry and Squiggz were the featured guests at The Roach Approach preview events, which were held at churches in California, Kansas, Florida, Michigan, Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Nevada and Colorado.  Upcoming previews are also planned for Ohio and California.  The churches have included some of the biggest mega-churches in the country such as Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas; Christ Church in Nashville and Lakewood Church in Houston.  The final event is scheduled in October at Mariner’s Church in Irvine, Calif.
