~ Though the Mountains May Be Moved Into the Sea ~
Christian songstress Tasha Layton has a beautiful song out now, “It’s Gonna Be OK.” The powerful chorus contains these moving lines:
“Though the mountains may be moved into the sea
Though the ground beneath might crumble and give way
I can hear my Father singing over me
“It’s gonna be ok, it’s gonna be ok”
Listen to it here.
The book of Psalms puts it like this:
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
— Psalm 46:1-3, New International Version
Isaiah has a similar quote:
10 Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
–Isaiah 54:10, New International Version
Either way, the message is clear: when you see your world tumbling and falling apart, God is with you. I think a lot of us look at things going on in this world today and think things are falling apart, but nothing is out of His control. Don’t fear. It’s going to be ok in the end.
