Integrity Label Group recording artists Martha Munizzi and Israel Houghton were recently tapped as winners of Oasis Awards in the categories of “International Female Artist of the Year” and “International Male Artist of the Year.
The 2nd Annual Oasis Awards were held in London to celebrate the achievements of leading gospel artists in the United Kingdom and abroad as well as recognizing the contributions of black churches to their local communities and British society.
Neither Munizzi nor Houghton were able to attend the ceremonies. Therefore, special presentations will be made to both artists while they are in Great Britain August 25-28 for the International Gathering of Champions at Kingsway International Christian Center.
This year, the Oasis Awards honored 34 recipients in a variety of categories that included “Best Gospel Song,” “Minster of the Year” and “TV Ministry of the Year” among others.
The Oasis Awards is organized by Musicstar Entertainment. Sponsors included: Premier Radio, Britain’s leading Christian radio station; www.unitedbyone.co.uk, Europe’s No. 1 urban website; leading black newspaper New Nation; HM Prison Service; Gospel Light; Noble Sleek, makers of Sleek Hair products and cosmetics; Glory House Church and the Church of God of Prophecy, one of the UK’s leading black denominations.
