Essential Records’ new pop group, True Vibe, continues to garner critical
acclaim for its first radio single, “Now and Forever,” which is from the group’s self-titled debut set to
release May 15. True Vibe founder and former founding member of the multi-platinum 98 Degrees, Jonathan
Lippmann, was an arranger and producer of the vocals on the single, which was named Chartbreaker last week and
moves up two notches this week to No. 18 on the Adult Contemporary (AC) chart. The single is also Hitbound on
the Christian Hits (CHR) chart (The CCM Update).
Remarkably, the song has also received a strong early endorsement from one of the top Christian music stations
in the nation. Jon Rivers, KLTY FM Radio (Dallas) VP of programming and morning show host, who generally does
not offer such quotes, said, “This song hits the target right on the bull’s-eye…possibly the best song of
the year.” Notably, “Now and Forever” was also yesterday’s No. 1 most requested song for the KLTY Ten@10 show
hosted by Andi Jaxson.
Scott Thunder, Today’s Christian Music Network music director, says that “Now and Forever” is “Authentic pop music that has what I’m looking for as a music director…great hooks, strong vocal performance, and that elusive quality: musical and cultural relevancy.” Thunder continues, “We’ll be playing these guys a lot.” True Vibe members recently completed an interview with Thunder on Today’s Christian Music Network, which is
now heard on 120 stations across the country.
“The response to “Now and Forever” has been exceptional!” remarked Michael Johnson, Essential Records manager
of radio promotions. “Although radio has heard about True Vibe from its many performances and Jonathan’s
success in 98 Degrees, this is the first time radio has actually had a single to play. The reaction has been
a slam dunk with 15 out-of-the-box adds on AC radio alone.”
True Vibe has already appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and performed the national anthem on
ABC’s Monday Night Football and for several other major sporting events (Tennessee Titans, Washington
Redskins, Cincinnati Reds, Indiana Pacers, etc.), as well as performed at the Arena Football “Superbowl” in
Orlando, which broadcasted the True Vibe performance to over 150 countries. Not including the television
audiences, True Vibe has now performed for over 800,000 people prior to releasing its debut album.
