Essential Records’ new pop group True Vibe continues to grow its long list of accomplishments. The group announces today that it has been added to the Radio Disney Live! Word Tour 2001 major market amphitheater tour. Featured along with artists such as Aaron Carter, A*Teens, The Baha Men, Krystal, and Hoku, True Vibe will appear in two markets, Philadelphia and New York (New Jersey), on this eight market tour. Thousands of Radio Disney listeners are expected to turn out for each event.
The first date featuring True Vibe lands in Philadelphia September 1 at the 25,000-person capacity Tweeter Center, while the New York (Holmdel, NJ) event will be held at the 17,500-person capacity PNC Bank Art Center. True Vibe will perform songs on this tour from its critically acclaimed, best-selling and self-titled debut recording, which features the multi-format No. 1 and international hit song, “Now and Forever” (The CCM Update). The tour will be supported by an aggressive on-air campaign and a targeted regional media campaign from Radio Disney.
The True Vibes Radio Disney Live! appearances follow the group’s recent sold out tours with multi-platinum artists Aaron Carter and Destiny’s Child. Along with its own headlining concerts, the summer festivals, and another concert with Destiny’s Child yet slated before September, True Vibe is expected to have appeared live in concert before nearly two million people since its inception and before Summer’s end.
True Vibe’s momentum helped the group secure the year’s highest-selling debut release when its album appeared in stores during the month of May. The recording highlights not only the writing and arranging talents of the group’s members, but the talents of top producers and songwriters who have worked on projects for such noted artists as Mandy Moore, U2, and Madonna. Recognizing the talent of the group, media outlets such as Bop Magazine, CCM Magazine and AOL Teens have already featured True Vibe, while the group has been interviewed for upcoming features in J-14 (October), Tiger Beat, Teen Beat, and Release Magazine (August/September).
Other high profile appearances that have garnered True Vibe a legion of new fans include performances of the national anthem for several major sporting events, such as ABC’s Monday Night Football with Dennis Miller and many NFL, NBA and major league baseball events (Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins, Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, Cincinnati Reds, etc.). True Vibe also performed the anthem for the Arena Football “Superbowl” in Orlando, which was broadcast to over 150 countries.
