Jacksonville’s own, gospel recording artist Troy Sneed of Savoy/Malaco Records has been nominated for a GRAMMY for “Best
Gospel Choir” with Youth For Christ (YFC). Troy Sneed is the director, arranger and producer of this HOT youth choir.
Troy, a native of Florida is no stranger to the music industry. After graduating from FAMU, Troy had a brief stint as an educator but
he was led into another direction and was offered the position as Assistant Minister of Music for the world-renowned Georgia Mass
Choir. During this time, Troy appeared with the choir in the movie “The Preacher’s Wife” starring the incomparable Whitney
Houston and Denzel Washington.
Youth For Christ’s album entitled “Higher” is full of songs geared towards youth and young adult choirs and praise teams. We
tried to cover every facet from Praise and Worship to Urban to Church Hymns to Traditional. Sneed is excited about being
nominated for the GRAMMY and he’s even more excited about what God is doing in his life through song.
The 43rd Grammy Awards will take place Wednesday, February 21, 2001 in Los Angeles, CA. Be sure to check your local listing
and watch Troy and YFC bring home
the GRAMMY!
