Todd Agnew Lands Four Dove Nominations

Ardent Records’ signature-voiced artist, Todd Agnew, garnered four Dove Award nominations from the Gospel Music Association yesterday.
Announced during the nomination ceremony for GMA’s 35th Annual Dove Awards this spring, Agnew’s multiple nods are significant achievements for the debut artist and his critically acclaimed 2003 freshmen bow, Grace Like Rain. He captured honors in the “New Artist of the Year” and “Rock Contemporary Album of the Year” categories, as well as a nomination for “Rock Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year” for the hit single, “This Fragile Breath.” Claiming the No. 1 position on R&R’s Christian CHR chart with the song last year for seven consecutive weeks, Agnew can walk away with two Doves in this category as both the songwriter and performer.
“We are so proud of Todd’s achievements in 2003 with the release of his debut album, Grace Like Rain,” says John Fry, President, Ardent Records. “The Dove nominations are truly an honor and a testament to the devotion and honesty that Todd brings to his music and ministry.”
In addition to being a featured performer during this year’s WayFest, a live concert event hosted by Third Day to kick off Gospel Music Week, Saturday, April 24, Agnew is currently preparing to launch his first headline tour supporting Grace Like Rain. Beginning March 6 in Dallas and running through April 23, the 20-plus-city “Grace Like Rain” tour also features Essential Records’ act, Silers Bald, and Fervent Records’ new all-girl rock band, BarlowGirl.
As one of Christian Music Planet’s “12 Artists to Watch in 2004,” Agnew was also recently named Worship Leader magazine’s “2003 Breakthrough Artist of the Year.”
The 35th Annual Dove Awards will be held Wednesday, April 28, at Nashville’s Gaylord Entertainment Center. For a complete listing of nominees, visit
