Christian music doesn’t get much bigger, or better, than Third Day.
Backing this claim, Billboard magazine says the Atlanta-based rockers are “not only one of the best Christian bands… but one of the best rock bands, period”.
This week, Third Day arrives in Australia for seven shows before heading to New Zealand’s Parachute 05. This is the band’s second down under visit.
Aussie shows include Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Launceston and Boonah (near Brisbane).
To date, the band that gave a “leg up” to Australia’s Paul Colman Trio three years ago has accrued four gold albums, a platinum album, a Grammy and 21 GMA (Dove) Awards.
That’s impressive, but is that all there is to Third Day?
Speaking on The Reality Zone last week bassist Tai Anderson explained the band’s motivation for why they do what they do.
“We’re not trying to earn merit badges, or get a better seat in Heaven,” Tai says.
We simply make music because this is who we are, and our music reflects our world view,” he explains.
