The Word Made Flesh Outranks SCOTUS

After a day of reading Facebook posts cheering the latest debacle of a liberal-oriented Supreme Court, and seeing numerous people post rainbow Skittle-colored photos of themselves, it has been interesting to watch liberal Christians defend their actions with such gems of wisdom as, “Jesus never said homosexuality is wrong.”
The Bible is full of words that Jesus didn’t say. That makes them no less valid. After all, John: 1-14 tells us the Word was with God in the beginning, and the Word became flesh in the form of Jesus. The Bible is full of verses that point to homosexuality as a sin along with a host of other sins: pride, lying, greed, immorality, slander, gossip and gluttony, to name a few. Jesus may not have mentioned most of the other sins, either, but that makes them no less wrong.
When you start tampering with scripture to make it say what you want it to say, because you don’t like or can’t explain what it really says, you are stepping out on thin ice and it WILL break. Just because Jesus did not provide a direct, specific red-letter “this is wrong” quote for every sin man dreams up does not mean the rest of scripture is somehow in error.
Man’s opinions don’t change scripture, man’s wants and wishes don’t change scripture and ultimately, even laws don’t change scripture. Laws don’t make what is wrong in God’s sight suddenly right.
The bottom line is we are all sinners, and no one gets a pass except through the blood of Jesus Christ. No one has stones to throw. But making laws that are contrary to God’s design will do more harm than good.
Matthew 18:3-6 “The proud religious law-keepers came to Jesus. They tried to trap Him by saying, “Does the Law say a man can divorce his wife for any reason?” 4 He said to them, ‘Have you not read that He Who made them in the first place made them man and woman? 5 It says, “For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will live with his wife. The two will become one.” 6 So they are no longer two but one. Let no man divide what God has put together.’”
