Transgender Agenda: A Historical and Medical Perspective on the Transsexual Ideology
What is the “transgender” agenda? As we delve deeper into the ongoing debate surrounding the transsexual agenda and the chaos that has resulted to our society and culture, it’s essential to consider the historical context and medical understanding of “gender” and “gender dysphoria.” In this article, we’ll explore the origins of the term “gender” and its usage, as well as the evolving understanding of “gender” dysphoria as a mental health issue.
What Is “gender?“ First, let’s address the term “gender.” Historically, the word gender has primarily been used in the context of grammar, specifically to classify nouns, pronouns, and adjectives in certain languages. In Latin and other Romance languages, for example, nouns are categorized as masculine, feminine, or neuter. However, the application of “gender” to human beings is a recent development and an example of how this “trans” agenda is deliberately changing the meaning of words to shift the way society views things.
It’s crucial to recognize that the concept of “gender” as a social construct, separate from biological sex, is a product of modern times. This shift in understanding has undoubtedly contributed to the rise of the transsexual ideology and the growing push for acceptance of non-binary “gender” identities.
Is “gender” dysphoria a mental illness? Now, let’s turn our attention to the medical perspective on “gender” dysphoria. Until relatively recently, “gender” dysphoria was considered a mental illness and a disorder associated with sexual gratification, even autogynephilia. It was classified as such in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) published by the American Psychiatric Association.
In 2001, Christian Activities reported on the emerging “Transgender” movement in its attempt to gain acceptance in our society by removing Gender Identity Disorder from the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic & Statistical Manual IV (DSM-IV)
When did “gender identity disorder” become “gender Dysphoria?” However, in the most recent edition of the DSM (DSM-5, published in 2013), the classification of “gender” dysphoria underwent a significant change. The term “gender identity disorder” was replaced with “gender dysphoria,” and the condition was moved from the section on sexual disorders to a brand-new section called “Gender Dysphoria,” created to placate crossdressing men in professions like the legal and medical professions who wanted to normalize their sexual fetishes.
This change reflects a growing repositioning of a classic male fetish into the belief that “gender” dysphoria is not a disorder, but rather a “distressing condition” resulting from a person’s incongruence between their “gender identity” and their assigned sex at birth. This shift in vocabulary, diagnosis and legal/educational/medical/media complicity has undoubtedly contributed to the greater acceptance of the transsexual agenda in our society.
Only three years after the classification of the disorder was changed to dysphoria, the Obama administration told all public school districts to allow students to use the bathroom that matched their gender identity, regardless of the reality of their birth sex– that’s how fast a change in terminology changed our culture, all part of the trans agenda.
As we navigate this complex issue, it’s essential to approach it understanding that what was historically recognized and diagnosed as a mental illness but which has now been mainstreamed into our culture through our failing education system and our corrupt media to indoctrinate impressionable kids. This has resulted in an epidemic of boys and girls as well as teens and young adults now who believe they are “trans” when 20 years ago they would have simply been considered tomboys and sensitive males.
While we must acknowledge the psychological and medical context of “gender disorder,” we must also recognize that individuals who identify as transsexual are human beings who deserve to be taught to love themselves the way God created them and to accept their birth sex as their natural, God-given reality.
In conclusion, the transsexual agenda is a multifaceted issue that requires careful consideration of Biblical, historical, linguistic, and medical perspectives. By engaging in thoughtful dialogue and seeking to understand the background of those who identify as transsexual, we can work towards undoing the havoc this unhealthy and unBiblical movement has brought to our society and to our kids.
