The Foster Kings — Butterfly Road

The Foster Kings have emerged from the chrysalis and evolved, if not into a butterfly, then into something strong and cohesive.
Their project Butterfly Road takes the talents of the three creative forces behind the Foster Kings: Mark Sorrells, Gary Pigg, and
David Erwin and weaves them into a palatable blend of rock/country, with undertones of pop and folk — a blend uniquely
Americana.

Invited to “spread your wings, find your dreams” on the title track, “Butterfly Road” is a driving song with a country rock beat that
introduces the album’s key themes of change and growth.
The listener is taken on a trip down a country road, behind a tobacco barn, into the wheat fields, out to a sandy bay and down a dark Mississippi road. As
with any trip, lessons are learned along the way. Many of the songs speak of change of a spiritual nature as in “Love Delivered
Me.” In fact, this project compares favorably with several of Gary Chapman’s Christian music offerings in style, vocals and message
with some Steven Curtis Chapman thrown in.
This is the type of project that is meant to be popped into the CD player for a road trip, or cruising country back roads. A strong
first offering from the Foster Kings, this should definitely put Butterfly Road on the map.
