When the level of tension has reached a plateau, it’s time to strengthen the friendship. Throughout the day,
whenever one sibling runs into the other, whether it’s passing in the hall, coming out of the bathroom, or doing
their chores, require them to greet each other with the words “I love you, and you’re my best friend.” This gets a
bit redundant and usually doesn’t come straight from the heart, but somehow it still makes a difference and the
fighting dissipates for a while.
