Squint Entertainment’s artists and projects won three awards
during the 32nd annual Dove Awards show held recently in Nashville. Leading the way, the concept album ROARING LAMBS was nominated for three Dove Awards, and won in the
RECORDED MUSIC PACKAGING OF THE YEAR category. Karinne Caulkins and Buddy Jackson (Jackson Design) executed the actual design, and Ben Pearson served as the project’s photographer.
For the second year in a row Sixpence None the Richer secured a Dove Award for their
contribution to the SPECIAL EVENT ALBUM OF THE YEAR. They won with STREAMS
(Word Records) in 2000, and then with CITY ON A HILL (Essential Records) this year.
Meanwhile, Squint’s Chevelle won a Dove Award for HARD MUSIC RECORDED SONG OF
THE YEAR (“Point #1”). Since the label’s launch three and a half years ago, Squint’s artists
have secured a total of 26 Dove Nominations.
The 32nd Annual Dove Awards, hosted by Michael W. Smith, was taped at the Grand Ole Opry
House on Thursday, April 26 at 9:00 p.m. (EST). The show will be broadcast nationally on cable
super station WGN this coming Friday night, May 4 at 8:00 p.m. EST. In addition, the show will be featured on several Pax TV stations the following Saturday and Sunday.
