Squint Entertainment artists have received
five nominations for the 32nd Annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards,
which were announced on Friday, January 26. Since the label’s launch three
and a half years ago, Squint’s artists have secured a total of 26 Dove
Nominations.
Leading the way, the concept album, ROARING LAMBS, is nominated for two Dove
Awards–SPECIAL EVENT ALBUM OF THE YEAR and RECORDED MUSIC PACKAGING OF THE
YEAR. Squint’s Dave Palmer served as executive producer for ROARING LAMBS,
while the label’s Tiffany Long coordinated album packaging. Karinne
Caulkins and Buddy Jackson (Jackson Design) executed the actual design, and
Ben Pearson served as the project’s photographer.
Meanwhile, Squint founder Steve Taylor has secured a Dove Nomination for his
most recent recording. “Shortstop,” featured on ROARING LAMBS, is honored
in the MODERN ROCK / ALTERNATIVE RECORDED SONG category. Chevelle’s “Point
#1″ is nominated for HARD MUSIC RECORDED SONG OF THE YEAR and Squint’s
Sixpence None the Richer is honored for their contributions to the worship
album CITY ON A HILL (SPECIAL EVENT ALBUM nominee).
