Sparrow Records to Re-release Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Extraordinaire

Sparrow Records will re-release Chip Davis’ Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Extraordinaire in a special ‘double-hub’ two disc set on October 22nd.
This special re-release of Christmas Extraordinaire will feature 5.1 Surround Sound as well as a DVD-A on one side and a
DVD-V (Dolby Digital and dts) on the other, which is compatible with all DVD players. In addition, the Mannheim Steamroller
catalog will be available from Sparrow Records, which include Christmas, Christmas Is In The Aire, A fresh Aire Christmas,
and Christmas Extraordinaire.
“In taking this project to CBA stores, our goal is to give our retail base the opportunity to attract “new” customers into their
stores during their biggest sale season,” states Bill Hearn, President & CEO of EMI/CMG. “Projects like Mannheim
Steamroller, Anne Murray, Andy Griffith, and others create fantastic opportunities to introduce a broader audience to music
that offers the Message of Hope, and CBA retailers should welcome this new project and the new customers it can attract to
their stores.”
Chip Davis’ Mannheim Steamroller is America’s most loved Christmas musical act of all time, having sold over 20 million
holiday records. Last Christmas, their first studio album in six years, Christmas Extraordinaire (American Gramaphone), sold
over 2 million copies and reigned atop several Billboard charts (#1 Top Christmas Albums; #1 Top Internet Albums; #1 Top
Contemporary Christian; #1 Top Independent Albums; #5 Billboard 200). Sparrow Records sold over 50,000 units within the
CBA marketplace—making it the top season seller across the board.
Christmas Extraordinaire was produced, conducted and arranged by GRAMMY Award-winning composer/musician Chip Davis,
the founder of Mannheim Steamroller. Mannheim Steamroller will bring their Christmas Extraordinaire Tour to fifteen major
eastern and mid-western cities starting in late November. For a complete tour listing, please visit
