Solomon’s Wish Teams Up with Scripture Union

Pamplin Records’ vocal trio Solomon’s Wish will join Michael W. Smith, D.C. Talk, and Jennifer Knapp in the first wave of a five-year national Scripture Union campaign designed to encourage Bible reading among children and young people across America.
The nationwide program will produce a series of topical Bible reading pamphlets that will provide 30 days of scripture readings related to a popular Christian book, music artist, or sports star. Over the next five years, these pamphlets will be displayed at “Bible Reading Centers” in thousands of churches and bookstores nationwide.

Solomon’s Wish is honored to be featured on one such pamphlet, which will consist of daily Bible readings based on
the music and message of their debut album, A Wise Man’s Tragedy. The pamphlet will also include a photo and
personal statement contributed by Solomon’s Wish.
“God had been dealing with me for two years about putting together a daily devotional that would encourage
our audience to better their relationship with Christ,” said Mike Hurst of Solomon’s Wish. “I was amazed at how God
brought this to fulfillment through the ministry efforts of Scripture Union.”
To promote discussion and to encourage interaction among readers, Scripture Union will create an online Bible
reading resource center (BIBLEREADINGCENTER.com™) where readers can post their insights on a bulletin board
and receive additional Bible reading help. In support of the revival, Scripture Union also plans to challenge pastors to make a church-wide commitment to
emphasize Bible reading for at least one year.
“We’re excited about working with Solomon’s Wish in the National Bible Reading Revival Project,” commented
Whitney Kuniholm, president of Scripture Union. “ Together we hope to introduce a whole new generation to God’s
Word.”
Scripture Union is a worldwide fellowship of Christians in over 100 countries. There are currently 3,500,000 people
who use Scripture Union Bible reading guides plus 100,000 volunteers and 10,000 staff. Scripture Union/USA,
headquartered near Philadelphia, produces a variety of Bible reading and children’s ministry publications. In
addition, Scripture Union conducts ministry programs around the United States that communicate the Gospel and God’s Word especially to
children, young people, and families.
Nearly two years ago, Solomon’s Wish, consisting of Scott Roberts, Mike Hurst, and Kevin Tobias, signed with
Pamplin Records onstage at the pre-telecast of the 1999 Annual Dove Awards. The band released their debut
album, A Wise Man’s Tragedy, in the spring of 2000. A Wise Man’s Tragedy earned Solomon’s Wish a top-ten
adult contemporary Christian single with “Learning to Fly.” For more information about Solomon’s Wish visitwww.solomonswish.com. To find out more about Scipture Union and the Bible Reading Campaign go online towww.scriptureunion.org.
